Approximately 3000 cans and 5 1/2 hours of build time later, DeKalb High School's Student Council has once again successfully participated in Community Harvest Food Bank's "CAN-to-logy" CANstruction 2015 competition. Attached are some pictures from Friday's Build Day.
CANstruction 2015 is on display through next weekend so come on down to Glenbrook Mall April 18-26 to see DeKalb's finished product! Judging takes place this morning, and build site posters should be posted later this afternoon next to each structure identifying each school along with a description of the creation and special thanks to donors. You can help us win the People's Choice Award by voting for your favorite structure --- hopefully you vote for our "Proud to be an AmeriCAN" creation! You can vote by donating a food item to the bin next to our structure. One food item = One vote for the People's Choice Award.
CANstruction® is using one can of food as a catalyst for change. One Can® to represent the building blocks of massive sculptures.
One Can® to prove that every act of kindness makes a difference. Since 1992, CANstruction® has contributed over 17.5 million pounds of food to community food banks demonstrating that we can win the fight against hunger.
THANK YOU, Barons, for helping make CANstruction 2015 a success!
