FFA bring home awards

FFA has taken two trips one to North Carolina and one to Kentucky.  At each competition they represented DeKalb High School and the community with award winning performances.  Ms. Buhler took her team to North Carolina. While there the Livestock Judging team took 2nd overall.  Chase Taylor was 3rd as an individual, McKensie Heffley, who graduated last year took 4th overall, the 4th highest in goats and 3rd highest in beef and sheep.  As an individual, Rachel Haynes received 10th place overall.
Mr. Dice took his team to Kentucky.  Leah Hefty finished with a Gold, 7th place in the National AgriScience Fair.  The food science team of LeAnna Shearer, Ellen Shearer, Leah Hefty, and Kylee Stout, finished 22nd with a silver award.  Individually, LeAnna Shearer finished 16th for a gold award and Ellen Shearer was also a gold award winner.  The forestry team of McKenna Clifford, Preston Jennings, Fox Clifford, and Tyler Foster finished 34th.  The Livestock team that went to  the Southeastern Regional in North Carolina, finished 2nd.  That was the team of Chase Taylor, McKenzie Heffley, Josie Rinehold, Landon LaRowe, Rachel Haynes and Hunter Fisher.
