DeKalb High School's Baron Brigade marching band will compete in the class B semi-state Saturday at Pike High School in Indianapolis.
Twenty class B bands will participate in the Indiana State School Music Association Open Class Semi-State Marching Band Festival. They qualified by placing in the top 10 scoring bands at regional sites Oct. 19.
Judges at the semi-state contest will determine the 10 bands that will advance to the 40th anniversary Indiana Sate Marching Band Finals to be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
DeKalb will take the field Saturday at 2:57 p.m. as the ninth of the 20 bands performing at Pike.
The semi-state at Pike begins at 1 p.m. and concludes with awards at 6:12 p.m.
The 20 semi-state bands and their order of performance: Bloomington North, New Castle, Plainfield, Greenwood, Zionsville, New Palestine, Whiteland, Floyd Central, DeKalb, Plymouth, Northview, Jasper, North Side, East Noble, Concord, Evansville North, Evansville Reitz, Northridge, Elkhart Central, and Munster.
