FREE Counseling Service through the Northeastern Center for ALL Students!

Good News! DeKalb Central Schools now has an additional counseling program available for our students!

We are partnering with the Northeastern Center who will provide the following services to any/all DeKalb Central students and Staff.

Two (2) free counseling sessions with a master level therapist for DeKalb Central students. No deductibles, co-pays, or pre-authorization are required to access these services.

Parental Consent is required for any student under the age of 18.
There is no obligation to continue treatment after the initial two free counseling sessions. However, if a student/parent would like to continue counseling, they may do so at their own cost. NEC accepts most insurances and has fee assistance based on family income.

Free services exclude psychiatric services (medication management) and inpatient services.

DeKalb High School offers 21 Varsity Sports, 30+ Clubs and Activities, 8 Bands, and 6 Choirs to students to experience a well-rounded education.

DeKalb High School offers 14 Advanced Placement Courses, 18 College Dual Credit Courses, 14 Vocational Programs through IMPACT Institute, 5 Project Lead the Way Courses, 4 Experiential Programs (Professional Career Internship/ICE/Work Experience/JAG) and numerous Online Digital Courses through Apex Learning.

DHS students have 12 different pathways available to them, and each one offers the same options for courses and diploma types. ย Students may change their pathway, even in their senior year. Students also decide what class format they prefer: traditional lecture-based, or the New Tech project-based learning system, where students work on real-life projects with other students.
